About UtilGears
UtilGears is a collection of fast, privacy-first online tools — calculators, converters and text and developer utilities — built and maintained by one engineer who uses them every day.
Who builds UtilGears
UtilGears is built and maintained by Gürkan Kılıç, a software engineer with more than 20 years of experience across C#, Unity and web development, and the founder of the independent studio Narworks. Every tool on this site is designed, coded and tested by a real engineer — not auto-generated and forgotten.
The goal is simple: small, focused utilities that just work. No signup, no clutter, no waiting. Open a page, get your answer, move on.
How we build and check our tools
Each tool is more than a box that returns a number. Every page explains the formula or method it uses, shows worked examples, and answers the questions people actually ask.
Where a tool touches health or money — like BMI or compound interest — the underlying formula is checked against authoritative, publicly documented standards, so you can verify the math yourself. Results are estimates for general information, not professional advice; see the Disclaimer for details.
Privacy by design
Wherever possible the tools run entirely in your browser, so the numbers and text you enter stay on your device and are never sent to a server. Speed and privacy are features here, not afterthoughts — and you can use any tool before you ever see an ad.
How UtilGears is funded
UtilGears is free and supported by advertising — the ads you see are what keep every tool free to use. Those ads never get access to the data you enter into a tool; that stays on your device. We keep the tool itself above the ads, usable first.
Get in touch
Have a tool you'd like to see, found a bug, or spotted a wrong result? Gürkan Kılıç reads every message — see the Contact page. Suggestions from the people who use the tools are how UtilGears gets better.
